MEDscienceTECH Moonshot Foundation

School Break Program

MEDscienceTECH Foundations offers a deep tech immersion experience for high school students interested in exploring the intersection of biomedical engineering, computer science and clinical medicine. Students learn the design thinking process as they build cutting edge AI-enabled surgical robots to solve complex medical problems for their simulated patients. Students are introduced to industry professionals throughout the program and will pitch them on their final products. Students leave the program armed with both the technical and interpersonal skills of the future. Students should be in grades 9-12 at the time of application.

Program Highlights

  • Work as a team of biomedical engineers to build innovative hardware and software solutions to complex healthcare problems. * No prior experience with coding, physics, or robotics required!

  • Work as a team to diagnose and treat several patients throughout the week, gaining direct exposure to bedside careers, including surgery, and learning anatomy & physiology along the way.

  • Learn about Moonshot thinking and the biodesign process: prototype innovative solutions to complex healthcare problems using the Kepler AI surgical robotic platform. Unleash your creativity and think outside the box – while putting your engineering and medical skills to the test. Showcase your solution to medical experts in a live demo day.

  • Showcase your solution to medical experts with a shark-tank style pitch and a live demonstration on the final day.
